Your photo shows deviled eggs with something that looks like caviar except it’s peachy colored. But none of the 10 eggs you shared have that. Not fair!

How long before an event should you make deviled eggs? ›

Prep deviled eggs too far in advance, and you'll have dried out filling and stinky boiled egg whites. This prepping method also applies if you're not even leaving the house.

Is it better to make deviled eggs when they are warm or cold? ›

Be sure to transfer them to an ice bath right away to stop the cooking process and cool them down quickly, which makes the eggs easier to peel and ensures that the yolk isn't too warm when mixed with the mayonnaise and mustard (which risks creating a runny filling).

How long do prepared deviled eggs last? ›

According to the USDA, hard-cooked eggs of any kind—whether left in their shells or peeled—can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Deviled eggs are best consumed within 4 days, provided they've been refrigerated promptly and stored properly.

How long can deviled eggs sit out at a party? ›

How Long Do Deviled Eggs Last Outside The Fridge? It's even more important to be mindful about how long you leave deviled eggs unrefrigerated at that family picnic. According to the FDA, two hours is the maximum time deviled eggs and hard-boiled eggs can be stored at room temperature.

How to keep deviled eggs cold at a party? ›

A platter of deviled eggs is best served chilled, and to keep the eggs cold, it's easiest to put the plate on a bowl of ice. There's even a way to make this setup more photogenic.

How do you store deviled eggs before serving? ›

When it's time to serve, snip off a corner of the bag and pipe the filling into the egg whites. If you'd rather fully assemble the deviled eggs in advance, be sure to store them in a single layer in an airtight container, and hold off on garnishing them until right before serving time.
