Saturday, Nov. 17, at Kerley Starks-Smith: Funeral Home, New Buffalo, with Father Thomas De Vita officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Lake: School Alliance Bank. Mrs. Rench was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Michigan City, the daughter of Otto and Harriet (Masur) Wiedenhoft.

She was the co-owner and operator of Country Corner Antiques from 1984 until the present. She loved to garden and was an avid doll collector. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first spouse, George Bartos, in 1960; three brothers John Wiedenhoft, Chuck Wiedenhoft and Raymond Wiedenhoft; and one granddaughter, Tonya Houchins. On Feb. 22, 1962, she married Ralph "Dick" Rench, in Jackson, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons Gerald (Mary) Bartos of LaPorte, Jeffery "Mike" (Georgenia) Bartos of New Buffalo; daughters Sandra (Harold) Rozinski of Valparaiso, Sharlene (Russell) Holm of Three Oaks, Georgenia (Herschel) Poteet of LaPorte, Rhea (Mitch) Rench-Shrum of Norton Shores, and Reginia "Rocky" (Paul) Zubrys of Michigan City, 18 grandchildren; 12 great-' grandchildren; sisters Eleanor Stiller of LaPorte, and Jean (Ray) Schroeder of New Buffalo. 14, 2001, in BROWN Poteau, Okla. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at First Baptist Church, Bokoshe, Okla. Burial will be at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe.

An Army veteran, he was employed in industrial quality control and retired from Allied-Signal in South Bend, Ind. He was a 50-year member of LaRue Messenger American Legion Post 26 in Niles and an avid fisherman.

On Sept. 15, 1951, in Watertown, N.Y., he married Jeannette McGowan. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Janice (Danny) Furr of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, Kathy (Jim) Fesperman of Poteau, Linda (Tom) Teel of Big Cabin, one son, Dave (Sandy) Brown of Benton Harbor; two sisters, Elizabeth Bills of Kinta, and Patsy Brooks of Bokoshe; two brothers, George Brown of Bokoshe and Bobby Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl Sr. and Gladys Funeral Home, Buchanan, with a prayer vigil at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association. Donald was born July 6, 1917, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Mary Roti Roti. The family moved to Buchanan a few months after Donald's birth, to begin their shoe business, Roti Roti Footwear. Donald graduated from Buchanan High School in 1935. He attended Ferris State College and Western Michigan University, playing on the football team for both schools, earning all conference honors at Western.

After graduating from Western in 1941, he joined the U.S. Navy and became a Navy flyer. During the war he was stationed at Nargannsett Bay, Rhode Island, where he flew seaplanes and tested torpedoes, then at Barber's Point in the Hawaiian Islands as an education officer. Donald married Shirley Louise Lemmer of Kalamazoo, in Providence, R.1., on Nov. 11, 1942.

After the war, they made their home in Shelby, then moved to Buchanan. Donald taught in the high schools and coached football or basketball in both towns, before joining his parents in the family business. While in business, Donald served as a city commissioner and mayor pro-tem. In 1965, he resumed his teaching career in the Buchanan Public Schools. He earned his master's degree from Western Michigan University in 1968.

After retiring from teaching in 1981, Donald served on the school board. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons Joseph (Stephanie Pagano) and Jon (Marjorie); four daughters Anne (Tom) Saal, Mary Roti Roti (Doug Rogers), Donna Pilley; Resetar, eight and grandchildren (Arthur) and Lisa Kerlin, Emily Kraus, Brian and Amy Saal, Elon, Joseph and Annalisse Roti Roti, Meaghan Pagano; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Dillon Kerlin. She was a member of the Chicago Teachers Union and the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago. She attended St. Angela's Grammer School in Chicago and Trinity High School in River Forest, Ill, and graduated from the former Chicago Teachers College, class of 1947.

On Aug. 13, 1949, she married Edward F. Dunne. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1962.

She married George G. Schumann on 1 Sept. 28, 1963, and he survives. Also surviving are sons, James Dunne of Harvey, Dennis (Joanne) Dunne of Morgan Hill, Edward Dunne of Richton Park, Daniel (Julie) Dunne of San Jose, and Mark Schumann of Willowbrook, daughters Kathleen Marin and Mary Lou (Thomas) McCracken, both of New Buffalo, and Marlene (Bob) Davidson of Booneville, seven grandchildren; and brothers Robert (Mary Lou) Flynn of South Barrington, and Mort (Marcia) Flynn of Poinciana, Fla. 13, 1907, in Wisconsin, the son of Mathias and Sara Mayer. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1924 and graduated from 1 Western State Teachers College, Kalamazoo. He was in sales management in the trucking industry in Kalamazoo and was a member of the Kalamazoo Traffic Club. He married Margaret Fleming in 1927. She preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Lucille McClellan; a sister, Mary Tully; and two brothers John Robert Mayer and Harold Mayer. Survivors include: a son, S. Lawrence (Shirley) Mayer of Pinehurst; one brother, F. Joseph (Laverne) Mayer of Sawyer; a sister, Lucy Mayer of Benton Harbor; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Judge Byrns was a retired circuit judge of the State of Michigan for the county of Berrien from 1966-1985.
